Report: Mayor says pandemic costs Moscow 600 bln rbl
MOSCOW, Aug 2 (PRIME) -- The pandemic cost Moscow more than 600 billion rubles, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin told RBC in an interview published on Monday.
"Our income shortfall amounted to 200–250 billion rubles last year. And we spent about 350 billion rubles more to fight against the COVID over the year and a half: on treatment, social and business support," Sobyanin said.
He also said that suspension of construction works in June–August 2020 prompted a price rise of the workforce, which triggered acceleration of inflation.
